Designed for aspiring educators with an undergraduate degree who are seeking certification in the grade bands of 5-9 or 7-12 while also earning a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction degree. Candidates at the Secondary level (grade bands 5-9 or 7-12) will also choose a content area certification from the list below:

What You Learn
Candidates of this program will learn how to design curriculum, create lesson plans, develop assessment strategies, and use teaching methods in their content area that will make a meaningful impact in the classroom. This program takes a faith-based approach, which means you will bring faith and learning together in a meaningful way for your students.
How You Learn
This program is structured for the working adult and is conducted in a fully online asynchronous format. Candidates complete a 30-credit hour education sequence which allows them to teach at the middle or upper level while earning their degree.
Career Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program students will have earned a Master in Science in Curriculum and Instruction degree and a Michigan Teacher Certification in the middle level (5-9) or upper level (7-12) grade bands. It is also possible to become certified in both grade bands.
Graduates will be equipped to plan lessons and also learn how to build relationships to manage a classroom, use technology and best practices to engage in effective teaching, and be an educator dedicated to service in the classroom, church, and community.
