Please provide more details on the dissertation process
GWU has a Dissertation Coach concept that we employ, beginning with the first semester of coursework. Students take a 1-hour seminar each semester as a part of their 63-hour program that helps guide them through their dissertation, and most often helps with completing the dissertation in a timely manner.
What methods are used for course delivery?
Nearly all courses are taught through a low-residency protocol. Classes meet face-to-face 3 weekends/semester on Saturday/Sunday. The remaining classes meet synchronously online using ZOOM. These classes are held on a particular night (usually Tuesday or Wednesday).
Does the dissertation committee consist of all Gardner-Webb professors?
No, only the chair must be a Gardner-Webb professor; however, all committee members must have their doctorate. (highly qualified dissertation committee)
